Motivational Mentors Mould Minds, Moulding Meaningful Modern Maidens

At Immaculate Heart Girls’ School, an institution celebrated for its commitment to nurturing future leaders, inspiration and personal growth are daily offerings. Here, every girl is encouraged to explore her full potential through a holistic approach to education—something the Headmistress has passionately reaffirmed.

Immaculate Heart places immense value on time and discipline, firmly believing in the guiding principle: “There is a time for everything.” Students are taught that when one does the right thing, in the right place, at the right time, and with the right people, she will always remain in harmony with the school’s code of conduct.

True to its philosophy, the school nurtures academic excellence, spiritual growth, and talent development through sports, music, drama, brain games, and extravaganzas. The academic calendar is further enriched by frequent interactions with professionals—lawyers, doctors, musicians, writers, and entrepreneurs—who share their life experiences to broaden students’ horizons.

Among these inspiring voices is Ayebare Viola, a proud alumna and current student at Sunquest Aviation Academy in South Africa, pursuing a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL). Motivated by the desire to give back, Viola has taken on the role of mentor to her younger sisters, igniting interest in aviation careers through her passionate contributions to the school magazine—alongside fellow aviation enthusiast Shanice.

Their efforts have sparked a wave of enthusiasm among students. It is hoped—and confidently expected—that in two decades, the skies will be adorned with Immaculate Heart alumnae soaring as pilots and aviation professionals. Viola and Shanice have indeed sown a powerful seed of aspiration.

In a beautiful twist of fate, during a staff educational visit to South Africa for a benchmarking mission, school leaders were reunited with Viola. Radiating joy, she expressed deep gratitude to her mentors and extended heartfelt thanks to Headmistress Sr. Sabina and Deputy Headmistress Sr. Grace for their unwavering commitment to transformative education.

Viola praised the ongoing efforts at Immaculate Heart to equip girls with future-ready skills. She believes the school’s learners are among the most fortunate, grounded in values yet empowered to dream boldly.

Like the ancient tree in Efua Sutherland’s imagery, Immaculate Heart stands tall—deeply rooted in integrity and reaching outward with countless branches of opportunity. It is a place where every girl with a dream finds shelter, strength, and hope.

Excelsior.
